Village Camp Moab

Village Camp Moab

Village Camp Moab is a luxurious RV park that is ideal for anyone who wants a comfortable home base without sacrificing access to nature. There are two sections here: the “Resort” and the “Campground” and in the Resort section, you’ll find full hookups, free WiFi access, and some amenities that add a special touch to the camping experience, including a heated pool and hot tub. It’s pet friendly, too, and even has an off-leash dog park on-site where your furry friends can run and play!

Along with these high-end campground amenities, you’ll also have access to hot showers, laundry facilities, and a clubhouse. However, it is important to note that only self contained RVs are allowed on the Resort side, while the Campground side welcomes non self contained vehicles and tent campers.

As it is located just a 10-minute drive from Arches National Park, Village Camp Moab is the ideal place to stay if you want to be close to some amazing hiking trails like Delicate Arch and Devil’s Garden. Or, if you’re in the mood for water adventures, you can head to the Colorado River for a spot of kayaking or paddle boarding. Downtown Moab is also nearby, where you can explore shops, amazing restaurants, and even a local brewery.

Sun Outdoors Arches Gateway

Sun Outdoors Arches Gateway

Formerly “Moab Valley RV & Resort Campground”, Sun Outdoors Arches Gateway is a fantastic choice for campers who want a laid-back, budget-friendly RV park with some great amenities. It’s got full hookups, WiFi access, showers, and a swimming pool, as well as a convenience store onsite that is perfect for picking up any camping essentials you might need.

Each campsite also has a picnic table and fire pit, and RVs of all sizes are welcome here, as well as those who fancy a break from the campervan and want to spend a night or two under canvas instead. Pets can camp here with you, too, but you will need to keep them on a leash and abide by the “quiet hours” rule, which starts at 10 p.m.

You’ll find yourself based right in between both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks here, which is ideal if you’re hoping to explore more than one area. The Colorado River is close by, as is the Slick Rock Trail, which offers some awesome hiking and mountain biking routes. Or, for a slower pace, you’re not too far from Downtown Moab and its shops, cafes, and galleries.

Moab KOA Holiday

Moab KOA Holiday

Moab KOA Holiday is the place to stay if you’re taking a particularly long vacation and want a base that offers excellent amenities, and family-friendly fun, and is conveniently located close to Arches National Park.

Let’s look at the amenities first. They really do take things to another level here, and you’ll find full hookups, WiFi access, picnic tables, flush toilets, shower facilities, a swimming pool, a kids’ playground, a camp store stocked with supplies and firewood, and even a mini golf course. The staff lay on special events throughout the week, too, including movie nights and pancake breakfasts.

You’ll be surrounded by stunning views of the La Sal Mountains while you’re here, creating a beautiful backdrop for your stay. And, as well as being near Arches National Park, you’ll also be approximately a 45 minute drive from Dead Horse Point State Park, where you’ll be able to enjoy some of the most amazing sunrises and sunsets in the US.

Moab Rim RV Campark

Moab Rim RV Campark

If you’re looking for a cozy, laid-back spot with killer views, you need to stay at Moab Rim RV Campark. It’s a smaller campground, which means you’ll get a friendly, more intimate vibe compared to most others and have plenty of space to settle in without feeling cramped up next to your neighbors.

The amenities cover all of the essentials, including full hookups, WiFi access, hot showers, and laundry facilities. There’s al a small convenience store, which is handy if you need to grab some camping essentials, and the park is dog-friendly with designated exercise areas for your canine companion to stretch and sniff.

Location-wise, Moab Rim RV Campark couldn’t be better for adventure seekers. You’re near famous off-roading trails like Moab Rim Trail and Hell’s Revenge, and you can rent a Jeep from a local company to explore them. And, of course, Arches National Park is just a quick drive away, offering plenty of opportunities for early morning or sunset hikes. Also, if you feel like taking a break from the trails, there’s a golf course close by, too!

Sun Outdoors North Moab

Sun Outdoors North Moab

Sun Outdoors North Moab (not to be confused with Sun Outdoors Arches Gateway, which we detailed earlier) is the kind of place where you can get a little bit of everything. A quiet, peaceful setup that’s close to all the Moab action and is well-equipped with full hookups, a large pool, and even a fitness center, should you want to squeeze in a workout while you’re on vacation.

The amenities don’t end there, though. There’s a clubhouse where you can chill out and meet fellow campers, hot showers, restrooms, and laundry facilities. Pets are welcome here, too, and there’s even a dog park where your furry friends can enjoy a little off-leash time.

In terms of location, you’re really close to Arches National Park and other nearby attractions like Sand Flats Recreation Ares, which has some awesome mountain biking trails. Downtown Moab is just a quick hop away, too, so you’re close to restaurants, shops, and any local town-based events you want to take part in.

Top RV Camping Tips

Top RV Camping Tips

Getting out there in your RV is all about adventure, freedom, and a little bit of planning to make sure everything goes smoothly. Below, you’ll find some top tips to make the most of your RV camping experience, wherever the road takes you!

Book Ahead

Moab and the Arches area are major hotspots for explorers, especially in the spring and fall. This means RV parks can fill up fast, so lock in your spot early if you’re eyeing one of those full-hookup, pull-through sites. It’s definitely worth it and takes all the stress out of trying to find a place to stay as you enter the area.

Check Your Gear

Before you hit the road, do a quick check of your RV essentials, including water hoses, sewage connections, and power cords. Moab has stores that may stock basics, but having the essentials ready to go means you’ll spend less money and more time exploring.

Beat the Heat

Even if you’re a seasoned camper, the desert heat and Moab sun is no joke. Make sure you pack plenty of sunscreen, hats, and reusable water bottles to stay hydrated. And if you’re traveling with pets, remember that paws can burn on the hot desert ground, so only head out in the early morning or the cooler evening to avoid hot pads!

Bring Extra Layers

We know we’ve just said to mind that scorching desert heat. But, even in this arid landscape, the nights can get surprisingly cool, especially during early spring and late fall. So, pack some cozy layers to keep warm and comfortably enjoy your campfire and stargazing sessions without getting too chilly.

Final Thoughts

Camping near Arches National Park is an experience you won’t soon forget, with the desert terrain and towering rock formations offering endless activities. And, with the RV parks we’ve listed above, you can find a place to call home throughout your vacation that suits your camping style, whether you prefer upscale resorts or a more rustic experience.
